Social Sharing Issue #3 - June, 2010
Superintendent's Message
As we ended another very successful school year, we were reminded of the fact that endings are often beginnings, and that is certainly the case with students who have completed our programs!  This issue of Hi-Lites features our high-school Convocation ceremony as well as our Adult Education Graduation.  How gratifying it is to see our students of all ages reach a goal they set for themselves and which no doubt at times seemed unobtainable. Congratulations to each and every graduate for the skills gained and demonstrated.  What a tremendous contribution these young people and adults will make to our communities!

As I take on the role of President of the Ohio Association of Career-Technical Superintendents for the 2010-2011 school year, it will be my honor to work with my colleagues around the state to take a strong, clear message to our legislators about the value that career-technical education brings to Ohio.  Our commitment to you, our stakeholders, is to use our resources wisely so that we can continue to develop our most valuable resource—people—through quality career-technical and academic education!

School Counselor Lynne Hall spoke to the students and the crowd and noted that this class earned more scholarship money (nearly $165,000 and counting), more students in this class took the ACT, more students in this class visited colleges and more students in this class will continue their studies at college after Ohio Hi-Point, than any previous class in the school's 36-year history.
