The Fowler State Bank Williamsport branch employees recently volunteered in the food building at the Warren County Fair.  Roberta Crone, Stephania Cole, & Robbie Dexter spent the evening of June 26th clearing tables & mingling with the fair crowd.

Don’t forget to stop by and say Hi when we make our stops at the Benton & Newton County Fairs!  We will be at the Benton County Fair on Sunday, July 22nd   to help with the fish fry & the Newton County Fair on Friday, July 20th assisting with the Truck & Tractor Pull.

Fowler State Bank recently awarded a $500 scholarship to two area students.  Congratulations to South Newton High School graduate Karlie Drinski & Benton Central High School graduate Katelin Ade.  Fowler State Bank would like to wish you both the best of luck in all of your future endeavors.

Have a safe and enjoyable 4th of July celebration, and remember to use caution when handling fireworks!  If you are looking for a way to celebrate, check out the Town of Fowler’s annual 4th of July Festival.  Click here to see a schedule of events.  Fowler State Bank will be closed in observance of this legal holiday.

When you hit the road for vacation, don’t let crooks hit you.  Here are nine simple tips to reduce the risk of identity theft:
  1. Alert your credit card providers before you leave, and let them know where & how long you will be traveling.
  2. Stop your mail or have a neighbor collect it.
  3. Weed out your wallet.  Only bring along essential identifiers & two credit cards.
  4. Leave your checkbook at home.
  5. Consider a temporary credit freeze which will deny access to your credit history, so ID thieves can’t open your accounts, but you will still be able to use your card.
  6. Carry a spare wallet with a few dollars & fake credit cards.  If you are accosted, hand over the fake & keep the real one.
  7. Use safer ATMs, such as ones in bank lobbies.
  8. Be careful with hotel computers.  Do not access financial data on public computers or on public Wi-Fi.
Beware of “front desk” fraudsters.  A late night phone call to your room from a “clerk” saying your card number is needed again may be a ruse by an ID thief.  Ignore the request, and call the front desk yourself.

We appreciate your business and interest in Fowler State Bank.  If there is anything we can do for you, please Contact Us at one of our four convenient offices to speak with your favorite representative.
